Greenbelt Lake – Middle Summer – 25 July 2012
I decided to go back to Greenbelt Lake but during the summer months the lake is crowded with people and picnics and the geese are not present. But it is pretty and the odd cardinal in a bush.
Patuxent Wildlife Refuge – Northern Track – 21 July 2012
So this was my first time in this area of the Patuxent Wildlife Refuge and it was pouring during my sojourn. I will go back it will be beautiful in the autumn season. I saw a heron and saw a deer pass by the car but I didn’t snap the deer.
A Quick Dip on a Hot Day – 14 July 2012
So it was hot and muggy. I wondered what the geese were doing … it has been awfully dry. I decided to check on the little pond on the side of the road. They weren’t there but just a little behind the trees, there they were taking a quick dip. They do make do and it is a pretty spot. Little patches of nature along the urban-suburban line.

So last weekend … I was driving around my home grounds. I spied a horrible beast it was putting trees in neat little piles. It is a great pity so many trees are sacrificed to try to ease traffic it won’t work.

So this past Friday, during the evening times, Maryland was assaulted by fierce rain storms and wind. So I was worried about my birds. Well they are not mine but I’ve been taking pictures of them for so long that I worried. But no real concern here …
The Small Places

Trying out a new camera and getting use to it. Went to the small pond where the geese and ducks go. It was a quiet day … And yes I’ve been catching up with the blog. Work intruded in the last month or so. There was an article in the paper during the last month or so that people don’t go to nature. I’m lucky nature is not that far from me.
The National Zoo

So it was a very sunny day … too warm for the animals who shied away from the bright sun and rising temps. The National is rather nice but if you have arthiritic knees it’s a bit of challenge. Anyway the pandas were not cooperating for their photo-snapping public. Actually none of the animals were.
Goslings
So it’s brooding season on the East Coast many of the geese have disappeared from the big lake parks we have. I’ve always wondered where they go. The big lake parks tend to have too many people. They go to the quiet places and start raising the next crop of geese. These are two bruisers … don’t you think.
Going to Bally’s at Atlantic City
So a friend and I went to Atlantic City. It was one of those day trips and I wanted to dip my toes into the Atlantic Ocean. I found birds !!!. It was a gray day at the boardwalk. Very Wuthering Heights. So many types of seagulls. Who knew …
