Just wandering about …
So Winter wasn’t giving up so easy this year but at Laurel Lake. The seagulls, the ducks and the geese swam about.
So it was a cloudy day a lull before another event. The geese were foraging and the wood ducks swimming.
So I was doing an exercise using the camera’s black and white mode. This goose was strolling on the road. Inaminate objects sometimes to have an otherworldly feel when shot in black and white.
It was cold, but it wasn’t snowing. So I went to Greenbelt Lake and not many people. But an interesting phenomena formed because of the cold … A pond within the lake. Lots of seagulls, a goose or two, ducks and the big Heron were there. The sun was nice!
And as always you can follow the links to other pictures.
So January 2014 was cold in Northern Prince Georges County in the state of Maryland. Ice formed over the pond.
Only Canada Geese and Seagulls seem to brace the pond there were a few cracks.
So winter had come to the Mid Atlantic region with bursts of snow and cold. But between the bursts I could walk about and snap a few pictures.
These were shot at Greenbelt Lake in Maryland, the birds apparently do better in the cold than I did.
There were other objects that made the lake otherworldly.
It was the lull before the many snows we would be getting. The winter sun was relatively warm or at least in felt warm considering the past few weeks before this was taken. The geese were coming in.
