The Earthquake
So it seems we have the earth move under our feet. It was an interesting sensation. Unlike many I didn’t experience it as shaking more like an undulating, rolling wave. I was in a meeting at the time. At first, we all look across each other and thought it was rather a heavy cart or something. When it happen again, we all got up calmly and walked out of the building and into the parking lot to wait. People came out calmly and somewhat at ease.
We were told to go home and of course it was an adventure to get home. First getting off the premises and then driving the highway. I manage although I realized my car doesn’t like the air conditioning on for long period of time while the engine is idling. I decided to shut the AC off and it was not to terrible. Car responded well.
While I was waiting, I sang and whistled old hymns.
Funny, I was never really scared.
Home was fine with just a few paperbacks and an Eeyore Piggy Bank on the floor. And power was still available. This was good since the complex has a tendency to lose power.
Friends were good and safe.
Which is what matters.
